Now What?

The first semester is always the hardest for me. Why? Because I'm not used to "sitting in class, being attentive, listening to teachers.... and learning". I don't even read... But I must say, with a good schedule, school isn't so bad. I had pretty easy classes, and surprisingly, the class I struggled most in was my writing class. That is until I got a new teacher. Ever since, my life has been pretty content.
I'm excited to start the second semester; I've definitely learned a lot and have grown as a person. I can't wait to take what I know and begin my life as an adult. Technically, I am an adult right now, but being under my parent’s roof doesn't make me feel like it.
One thing I can't seem to accomplish is staying organized. Which I will attempt this last semester of high school. I will try and use my planner, after I find it, as much as possible, and write in my journal... after I find that, too.
There are many things I am looking forward to. I picture this last semester to be fun. I'm going to take advantage of as much fun as possible before I leave this kid school.

When I was little, I used to think the moon was a hospital. My imagination and logic ran extremely wild before I got older. It's strange to realize how much we've grown as a person and how little we used to know. Our minds processed so differently. I used to be lost as a kid; I didn't know what I wanted, and everyone always had his or her own dream for his or her future. Both my siblings even had an idea of what they wanted to be. But it wasn't until I began my first high school year that I started to have an essence on something.
I took band in middle school, I played the flute. I thought it was overrated and didn't enjoy it. Unfortunately, my schedule freshmen year came with a period of band, which I didn't want. I switched out into a building construction class, thinking it was creative woods. The creative woods class made boxes, plates and more out of different kinds of wood. Creative, I know. The building construction class's main concept was to learn about building and to do mini projects of building that dealt with construction work.
The class was full of upperclassmen, not to mention, counting me; there were a total of four girls. End result? I loved the class. The feeling of me creating something is satisfying, whether it's building a birdhouse or drawing a picture. It's the feeling a talented singer gets when he/she performs a song wonderfully. It is easy for me to understand the concept of things being built and why some things needed to be made so complex. People call me a great problem solver. I'm assuming it all comes from my great ability and appreciation in mathematics and drawing of why I actually enjoy the subject of building. It all adds up, I want to be in the architecture and designing department in the future. I don't just choose to be a part of it, I have passion for it. As of now, I can't wait to pursue a position in the architecture and design field.
It excites me to know that my future will relate to an architectural career. Nonetheless, life itself. I see myself as being creative; I have a large imagination that I know will bring me far in the future.

Winter Fashion

Transitioning into Winter Fashion
You'd think summer ending would mean, "goodbye tank-tops" and "adios to dresses and skirts". Fortunately, we can help you stay warm with those summer clothes on. All it takes is a little bit of accessories.
We've all seen those girls wearing summer outfits in the middle of winter. They're not exactly weather appropriate and we all know you're freezing and are sacrificing comfort for appearance. We get it though, everyone wants to look good, and we're here to show that there is a way to be both practical and fashionable while staying warm.

Above you see, Devon Searles rockin the stripes, Sarah Cerne sporting a winter sweater, & Jacob Sanders modeling a cute buttoned up cardigin
Tips to keep warm/dry:
  • Rubber boots are always in, in AK; rubber boots, ankle boots, boots, boots, boots
  • Rain jackets are a must when you live in a rain forest
  • Leg warmers and socks; you can pair these items with anything
  • Big sweaters; they don't have to be sloppy looking, pair that knit with a belt and embrace your waist
  • No one wants to see your tight booty, so take off those leggings and slide into some comfy jeggings
  • Think short are only for summer? Think again... Tights are a great way to keep shorts appropriate during winter and keep your legs warm
  • Although cardigans are a great way to cover up, they can be a hassle, so layer that spaghetti strap over a plain white tee
  • You can still wear that cute summer mini; just add some colorful tights
Sydney Reese models a big sweater belted at the waist, strip patterned tights,  with some wool socks and Xtraufs
Winter knit accessories:
  • Scarves
  • Headbands
  • Hats
  • Sweaters
  • Long socks
  • Leg warmers
  • Tights
  • Gloves/mittens

Movie Review

Review: Scott Pilgrim vs The World
The Movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, is a movie that is based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's Oni Press comic book. This movie tells a story about 23-year old, Scott Pilgrim, needing to defeat his new girlfriend, Ramona Flowers, seven ex-boyfriends. Scott is a very emotional, rocker bass player for his band, Sex-Bob-omb, yet he's a slacker boy that shares a room/bed with his sisters male-homosexual friend. Each fight with Ramona's ex-boyfriends is intense and crazy, followed by some humor. Through the adventures of battleing, Scott forgets he has to deal with his former, psycho chinese ex-girlfriend, Knives Chau. Knives is obsessed with Scott and believes she can win him back by imitating the edgy appearance of Ramona.
This movie has wicked animations and quick-witty jokes that bring humor to the audience. The movie introduces the band in the begining and you can see animated thunder bolts ragings off the band members as they rock out. The animations make things more extreme yet unrealistic. This movie has similarties to video games, such as Super Smash Bros. The seven battles Scott encounters with is like seven different battles in a video game.

My interest in this movie grew more and more as i finished it. I slightly became obsessed with this movie for a week after watching it, it's now one of my favorties. I really enjoyed this movie because it gave me memories of when I used to play Super Smash Bros. I also wish life itself had cool sound and animation effects.
